welcome to the AHOY! children's ministry at the harbor

our mission

At The Harbor, we are dedicated to providing a Biblical, creative and fun experience for your child(ren). We have a fully staffed Children's Church for infants to 11 year-olds on Sunday mornings. All of our volunteer workers are highly qualified to work with children, have experience working with children, and were strongly recommended by references to work with children. 


our format

Ahoy! provides classes for two age groups, 0-5 year olds and 6-11 year olds.  All programs start at after worship is over.  The pastor dismisses the children and we all proceed to the classrooms downstairs.  Parents sign their child(ren) in the respective room based on their age and receive a card with a number on it.  The parent who receives the card is the parent who will pick up the child(ren) during the last worship song of the service.  The parent will go downstairs and sign the child(ren) out of his/her class.

 0-5 years

We're blessed to have the opportunity to spend time with and care for your precious little ones as you enjoy the worship service. We have Bible stories, crafts, songs, and games prepared for your children as they are able to participate. Through the curriculum 252 Basics (www.252basics.com), it is our mission that children be exposed to the truths that:

1.    God loves them

2.    God made them

3.    God wants to be their friends forever

6-11 years

In the 6-11 year-old group, children are taught about our amazing God, but also encouraged to start and develop a life-long relationship with Jesus Christ. The curriculum we currently use is 252 Basics (www.252basics.com), which is based on the verse from Luke 2:52 - "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men." The curriculum is very interactive and incredibly accommodating to this wide age range of children. Based on stories right from the Bible, the lessons focus on key virtues and are filled with skits,games, activities and fun!
