AHOY! children's ministry
Mission:
At The Harbor, the Ahoy! Children’s Ministry believes that children are important to God. We want your children to experience a personal relationship with God fostered within the greater community of faith.
“Most kids form their entire idea of who God is and choose whether or not they’ll have a relationship with Him before leaving 5th grade.” --252basics

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)
Overview:
We desire for each child to know that God loves him or her personally. In Ahoy!, children learn about what it is to be in a relationship with God, exploring such avenues as knowing God’s voice, reading the Bible, proclaiming Jesus, and praying in faith for others. With this vision we use the First Look curriculum, which features the underlying themes:
1. God made me.
2. God loves me.
3. Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Our format:
Ahoy! provides nursery care for ages 0-2 and a combined class for ages 3-11. Children and families will participate in worship together. During the message, children will be dismissed to the classrooms. Guardians are required to sign their children in to and out of their respective rooms.
What to expect on a typical Sunday:
In the 3-11 classroom, children will come together with their peers to participate in crafts, activities, and responses which relate to the Bible story of the week. Each week we will pray together for our families and friends, and we will work on a monthly memory verse that connects to the theme of our curriculum.
In the 0-2 nursery, the little ones enjoy reading stories, playing with toys, and meeting new friends. Some of us are known to occasionally bust out dance moves to fun worship songs that allow the kids to worship God together. We are strict about sanitizing everything in the classroom after each Sunday morning, and we offer a fully equipped changing table.
Ministry Team:
Ahoy! volunteer workers are highly qualified and experienced working with children. Each volunteer has been strongly recommended to work with our ministry, and have completed the CORI report.
