NAVIGATE Training School

NAVIGATE trains the harbor’s current leaders and future church planters and prepares them for lifetimes of fruitful ministry.  Students set aside a year or two of their lives to more deeply pursue knowing the person of God and understanding His purposes for their lives.  NAV graduates have the opportunity to plant churches in the US and around the world, with teams from the harbor & our sister churches.

MODULE 1 (year one)

Students focus on developing the heart attitudes and habits of a disciple of Jesus.  They desire an intimate daily walk with God, a deeper knowledge of the Bible, and to live sacrificially as a member of the church body—wholeheartedly serving the harbor and being accountable to others by sharing their lives in intentional relationships.

MOD 1 teachings include:

• Understanding the father heart of God
• Prayer, fasting, healing, & spiritual gifts
• Life vision, finances, health, & purity
• Old Testament literature & history

MODULE 2 (year two)

Students focus on developing the competencies of a church-planter.  Drawing on over twenty years of experience as a movement with missionaries in the field on several continents, the curriculum equips students for the rigors of church planting, both stateside and overseas.

MOD 2 teachings include:

• Church-planting & discipleship strategies
• History of the church & missions
• Worldview & cross-cultural evangelism
• New Testament literature & history

SUMMER MISSION TRIP

This yearly capstone trip allows NAVIGATE students to practically apply their training school readings and teachings in an intercultural context, while learning how to work together as a healthy, supportive team. It’s said in our movement of churches that students learn just as much during their summer trip as they do during an entire year at the training school.  The trip lasts from 1-4 weeks, and destinations include nations where the harbor’s sister churches are already establishing works or places where we are exploring the possibility of church planting in the near future.
